Lake Te Anau is a glacier lake with its outflow, the Waiau River, controlled as part of the Manapouri power station scheme. The Fiordland National Park Visitor Centre and Museum is situated in T e Anau and provides further information on Doubtful and Milford Sounds and the wildlife found within them.
